MAATRAM is a transformative initiative by STEM Organisation aimed at the holistic development of children residing in Government Girls’ Homes. The project is designed to support children who are in need of care, protection, and rehabilitation by focusing on their emotional well-being, education, life skills, and positive behavioural development.
The programme integrates Life Skills Training and Behaviour Modification Therapy, which are evidence-based approaches that help reduce re-offending behaviour, enhance emotional stability, and build self-control, responsibility, and positive decision-making abilities.
The word “Maatram” means change or transformation. True to its name, the project strives to bring meaningful and lasting change in the lives of vulnerable children by providing opportunities for healing, growth, and empowerment.
MAATRAM operates in alignment with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, ensuring that all interventions uphold child rights, dignity, and a rehabilitation-focused approach.
